Legal
Privacy Policy
Effective September 8, 2026
This policy explains how Fuji Cookbook handles information when you use the Android app, community recipe service, and this website.
Information we handle
Account information
If you create an account, Firebase Authentication processes your email address, display name, user identifier, sign-in provider, and authentication information. Passwords are handled by Firebase and are not visible to Fuji Cookbook.
Community recipes
When you publish a recipe, we store the recipe name, display author, notes, camera settings, sample-image links, publication dates, and an internal account identifier. Published recipe content is visible to other users, subject to temporary membership access controls.
Purchases
Google Play processes payment details. RevenueCat receives purchase identifiers, subscription status, product information, and an app account identifier so Fuji Cookbook can provide membership access. We do not receive your full payment-card number.
Device-local information
Your local recipe library, app preferences, and camera recipe data normally remain on your device. Fuji Cookbook accesses a compatible camera over USB only when you choose to connect, read, or save a recipe.
Operational information
Our service providers may process IP addresses, request details, device or browser information, and diagnostic logs to deliver, secure, rate-limit, and troubleshoot the service.
How we use information
- Provide sign-in, memberships, community publishing, and account ownership.
- Operate, secure, rate-limit, diagnose, and improve the service.
- Prevent fraud, misuse, and policy violations.
- Meet legal, tax, accounting, and platform obligations.
Service providers
We use Google Firebase for authentication and community-service infrastructure, Google Play for Android distribution and billing, RevenueCat for subscription status, and Amazon Web Services for this website. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
Retention and deletion
Account and community data is retained while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account in the app under Settings. Account deletion removes your Firebase account, recipes associated with that account, and the corresponding RevenueCat customer profile. Google Play may retain transaction records under its own legal and accounting obligations. Recipes stored locally on your device must be removed by you or by uninstalling/clearing the app.
You can also review the external account deletion instructions.
Sharing and sale
We do not sell personal information. We disclose information to the service providers above, when you intentionally publish community content, when required by law, or to protect the service and its users.
Children
Fuji Cookbook is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no service can guarantee absolute security. Providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their applicable safeguards.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published. For privacy questions, visit brennan.sh to contact the developer.
